Dear family and friends,
Well this week has been really good
and it is hard to tell you everything about every investigator so I just picked
a couple of my favorites.
Talorin
so this is a family that we I2Led
when i was on splits with sister fuggle and we went back to them on monday.
the lesson was really good and i was really excited to give her a book of
mormon. she is catholic and she is living with her grandmas sister and her
name is jenny. she is 18 and was going to school but has stopped.
she has a lot of questions and when we gave her the commitment to pray
she said she would and it was one of those that i knew they would do it.
we returned to them yesterday and she had prayed and we asked her how
that was and how she felt, she said that when she started to pray she had a lot
of questions but after there were no more questions. she is not quite
sure if this is the true church but we gave her a book of mormon and she was really
surprised that we just gave it to her and said she would try to read it.
i am really excited for her and i hope that she will find the answer she
is looking for.
Bamundi
this is sort of a complicated story
because this family lives in bario maasim and literally we are finding members
of that family everywhere. the two brothers live right next to eachother
and we have run into both their wives and taught them before we met the
husbands. the brothers are members of the church but are less active for
at least 7 years so we are working on 1)completing the family 2)getting them
back to church but that might be a little harder to do. they have really
fallen away but i have news about that later. the wives seem really
interested and the brothers, although a little hesitant, seem to be alright
with it. it is just a matter of reminding their spirits of the things
that they already know.
Viset Pagio
so she is also a part member family
and her husband and his brothers and sisters have been members since they were
little and they have been sealed as a family. the problem is that we cant
seem to get her interested in the gospel and she is not married. so we
are trying to find the part of the gospel that will hit her in the heart and
show her that this is the true gospel and then we can deal with the problem of
her not being married but she listens and understands everything, she prays
really good (not like that measures anything but hey if they pray correctly
that is always a plus) and i know that she just has something that is bothering
her that she hasnt said yet so we will keep working.
Sigi so lastly we have a plan for
the branch and how to reactivate the Less acitve members here because the last
3 weeks we have had 80 in attendance at church and before we had up to 140 so
it is super low. we want to work with the relief society president and
elders quorum president to get some work on the visiting teaching and home
teaching and this week at district conference president querido presented a
great idea that involves the whole ward to go on sunday for 2 hours and just
focus on 15 families that are less acitve and i am really excited to be apart
of it and help the members to better fellowship the recent converts and less
acitves because honestly we can only do so much but it comes down to the
members. that is how we get people to stay in the church and become
strong members. how would it feel to go to an activity and not know
anyone, it would suck so that is why we have less active members. if there is
one thing i learned this week it is the importance of not just being a sunday
member but a member of the church everyday and helping your brothers and sister
to feel welcome and sometime by simply doing your home and visiting teaching it
makes a difference to people. so that is the plans for the next couple
weeks and i hope to have a big branch acitivity where we teach the members how
to be an effective member present by giving them a quick MTC experience so that
when they work with the missionaries they know what to expect and can better
bring the spirit.
I know that this is important and
that we as members need to be willing to help others and the missionaries by
finding those people they can teach and fellowshipping them because everyone
needs to hear the gospel just like everyone needs a friend. i love the
work i am doing her and it is nice to have a direction and some really great
investigators. i love you all sorry it is only a little and not very many
funny stories (of course there are many because its me we are taking about but
we wont go into that) I love you all and i wish you the best this week.
Thank you for your support love and letters they are always apperciated.
Love,
Sister Snow
