This week has been one big learning
experience for me. in two days I will be getting a new companion and
training. I don't know if I will be moving areas but I probably will be
staying here in Pilar. So my goal this week was to learn all I can and
be looking for ways to improve myself and for ways that I can improve my
area. I have also been looking for the specific area that god wants me
to focus on for this reason:
On Thursday I went on exchanges with sister Palmer and we went to
the area they are focusing on which is ala-uli. The goal was for me to
ask sister Palmer any questions I have to make sure I am as ready as
possible for training. we started out the day with I2L and It was
AMAZING!! It was a rough start but as I continued to open my mouth in
faith miracles happened we actually had more people stop us and ask us
who we were and what our message was rather than us asking them. We had
12 I2Ls that day and I was so excited and happy for the other sisters.
So right from the beginning i see the importance of having a goal and
working towards that goal because if it is in gods will he will make
miracles happen.
Then on Tuesday we went to brother Edgardo who has cancer and let
me tell you all that was one of the most spiritual experience ever. I
feel like I have this connection with him and every time we talk I just
want to take him to church and tell him how wonderful the gospel is and
how much it will bless his life. I literally feel like he is my best
friend and I want him to realize how important this gospel is. This Sunday we tried to get him to come to church and when we went to pick
him up .......hi was out in the sea catching fish!!! Why?! so that was a
trial but hopefully next Sunday we are still working with him because
he so knows the gospel is true and the book of Mormon is true.
Then, so we are now teaching sister Jessica's brother and his wife
and the one problem is they are not married. He seems like he is just
listening to us but as I watch him he seems to be in deep thought. it
is almost like he knows it is true he just doesn't want to do the
action. She, Bernadette, on the other hand read the entire first
pamphlet before we taught her and by the 1st lesson we had given her a
book of Mormon and she had read half of 1st Nephi by the next visit. she
loves it!! I want to give her a baptismal goal day so bad but I know we
need to address the marriage thing first and i am hoping we can get
both of them on board and it will make them so much stronger. That is definitely going to be in my prayers because that will be me and a new
missionary. AAAHHH!
Also this week we had two baptismal interviews and ........They
both passed. Sister Nava said that in the interview she worried about
us. So cute. She really has a strong testimony and I am so proud of
her and to see how much my love for her has grown has been amazing.
Goodness god really knows what we need and when we need it.
I have seen a lot of changes in myself the last week and I know
that I have gained a confidence that I need to get through this next
week with all the changes coming but I also know that its part of faith.
What I have learned about faith is that I need to follow the lords
will because he is telling us where he wants us to go but we have to
listen for them and to listen we need to be quiet. so as part of prayer
and following the spirit we are following the will of the father and
when we see the end result that is when our faith increases. One thing
that is so important in all of this is taking the STEPS to get there.
you cant jump to the end. Faith is like a seed and we need to plant
and nourish it before it can become a tree. so faith is like enduring
to the end. Wow so many connections.
Well that is all the cool experience I have for this week and I
want you all to know that I love you and miss you so much. continue on
becoming stronger in yourselves and in your relationships with everyone
around you because those are so important and I want you all to know
also that I know that this gospel is true because I have felt it. I
love you and I will talk to you next week.
Sister Snow
we asked if she felt the earthquake and she did not. Kailie also asked if she knows how to count to ten in tagalog; isa dalawa talto apat lima anim pito walo siyam sampu. love you kisses
