Sowers and Drunks

Dear Family and Friends,
Well this week has been a week of trial but a week of seeing how the lord is preparing our area.  we have been punted to much this week but what hurts the most is the fact that most of our goals for this month are hiding from us and don't want to be taught.  they literally are dropping like flies and we just look at each other with broken hearts that they think we are some sort of disease.  if you don't want to be taught just say so don't hide from us.  it is hard to I2l too and try to get new investigators because most people in our area are just so . . . . .  I don't know how to say but they just don't want to hear about the gospel.  it doesn't matter how many people we I2L we are still like a disease walking the streets and they run and hide or when we stop talking about their life and try to introduce the gospel they literally just walk away.  ah so hard.
We had splits on Tuesday and I got to go to Orion.  it is so quiet over there and they are so strict on the rules it is ridiculous.  I loved working with sister Empalmado and we really related to each other and our feelings about our areas.  we both learned so much from each other.  one thing she said is that some missionaries are reapers and some are sewers and right now I definatly feel like a sower.   some of us are meant to prepare the area or investigators for other missionaries who are meant to come in and reap and sometimes it is hard because we put in the work and we want to taste the benefits.
Yesterday we went back to one of the members referrals sister Krisann who is the daughter of president Samson.  it was one of her classmates and when we went to her the first time she seem a little shocked and then we found out that she really didn't know much about Jesus Christ and what he did even though she was catholic.  sister Krisann told us that she is going through some really hard times and yesterday we saw how much this message was for her.  we taught her lesson one and she asked questions that helped her understand the role of Jesus Christ in her life and then when she prayed at the end she opened up her heart and really talked with god.  she cried and told us that she really needs this.  she wants to try to come to church on Sunday and wants to come with Krisann ah it is so important to have referrals from members who they know that need it because we never know what is going on in peoples life. I am sad to think that I won't be there next time to see her progress but I know that she is one of those being prepared.  as we took a tricycle to another area I thought "why does this have to happen?  why do i have to get transferred when things are starting to pick up again and we are getting people are truly prepared?"  I don't know but he knows and maybe there is another person who can better help these people than I can.
OH MY GOODNESS!!  funniest story.  so we went to Wawa on Saturday and we were going to teach Monico Perez, princesses dad who was given a BGD this week about the word of wisdom.  well ........guess what he was doing when we got there......yep drinking.  (you can take this out as you please mom) one of my dreams is to see someone drunk without having to be around them for too long and to see all the stupid things they do and say and I got to see that.  he came out of his house and was super friendly almost like he was gay.  he tried to feed us but we told him later we had appointments as we continued talking I saw a tattoo on his left breast that said "I love u olive" his wife.  I asked him what that was and then he said that that was his wife and he loved her.  then he flexed and said and "I love this, and this" and pointed to his balls.  oh man I died laughing.  this guy was ridiculously funny and he totally thought he was so ripped but he has this giant rice belly.  then he started to tell us that we were beautiful and that he loved us. his wife then told him he needs to take a nap and we would come back later.  oh my goodness so funny.  I thought dad would get a kick out of that.
so needless to say we didn't teach him the word of wisdom so hopefully on Tuesday we will teach him that.  our investigators that we still have are doing alright.  we are trying to help them progress and see how great this is for their families.  I know that this gospel is the way to happiness and to know why we are here and what our goal is here on this earth makes the enduring to the end so worth it.  I hope to help these people see that and see the effect it has had in my life.  I know this gospel is true.
Thank you all for your support and love.  I hope you all have a great week.
Love Sister Snow
