Dear Family and Friends,
First I want to say it is fall in
the Philippines I am literally wearing a jacket every day and I sleep with more
than one blanket every night. WEIRD!!
so. . . . . Yes I got transferred
to ..........Orion!! I literally moved to the next town over and I am still in
my first zone. WHAOOO!!
We got the text on Tuesday night and
I was transferring but then about two minutes later I got a call from our STL
and she said that I was her new companion and I didn't believe it!! so I packed
and I just thought "yea this is all a joke there is no way I would move to
the next town over". When we went to the victory station I looked at
the paper and yep sure enough I was going to the next town over, I was the
companion of the STL and I was going to the most strictest apartment that I
knew. AHHH!
But needless to say it is not that
bad. I made it more that I should have. so my new companion is Sister
Fuggle she is from Australia and she is so nice. As I got to our
apartment (which I will send pictures next week) I unpacked and we then went
out to work and I just resolved to go and learn and adjust as I went. Honestly
it was the smoothest transition I have had in my whole life and I am still
doing great. I am starting to love it here fast and I am learning so much
I can't even describe how much I have grown in the last 4 days. I am
helping Sister Fuggle with the other sisters and it is almost like we are a companionship
STL. She is a twin and her mom is philipina but that doesn't mean she
knows a lot about the Philippines but she adapts well and is trying to look
philipina.
We did weekly planning and we have
NO progressing investigators so that is our job as a companionship. We are
looking for people and its weird because we never run out of people to teach we
are always running from appointment to appointment and trying to get all these
people. Which is nice but we have got to find the ones that are ready. One
day we went to try and find the end of our area which is actually the border of
Pilar so I know when it is Pilar and when it is Orion and we found this
"Secret" place that we didn't know existed. when we took an
hour in the morning (which by the way I love, we now work two hours in the
morning and then come back for lunch and language study. AWESOME!) the
first people we talked to were actually members of our church but since they
are so far they can't make it to church or they are just scared. Whatever
the reason we found out just how big this secret area is and we can't wait to
go back and spend a whole day there finding people. I can't wait I am
seeing such a change in everything. I have determined to find myself this
transfer and to find out who I truly want to be and I see the lord help in
molding me to find that. I am so excited for the things that I will
experience here and the people are great. We have great member present
and I want to help my fellow sisters in Pilar do the same.
The great thing about this companionship
is that since none of us are under twelve weeks I can now switch off and go to
Pilar and Pilar sisters can come to Orion to see how great it is. I
literally am junior STL and I am excited to help Sister Fuggle with her duties
and help myself learn and grown. Unfortunately I think this is also mini
training for me to become an STL. I sure hope not!!!!
So that is all I got for now on the
area I will tell you more as I start to meet new people. One experience I
want to share that happened yesterday was a guy who literally just talked in
circles. he said that he couldn't pray to know if our church was true but
he can pray to get help from problems. then he said that there is no god and
but that he can talk to god. I got such a head ache from talking to him
and when I tried to bare my testimony it turned into a battle but it was
subtle. finally I just said "we would like to leave these things in the
name of Jesus Christ Amen!" or gusto namin iniiwan sa pangalan ni Jesucrist,
amen yep and just left. We had a rough day and we are struggling finding
a groove with our teaching but we decided last night to pull our mattresses on
the floor and have a "girls night" where we stayed up a little later
and talked and got to know each other. it really helped us today in companionship
study to find a way to improve our companionship really fast because we will
have exchanges 2 times a week now until the end of 6 weeks so I will be doing
so much adjusting but I am excited.
Well I love you all so much and I am
excited to be here right now and to continue learning. I am thankful for
you support and I want you all to know that I love you so much. I am
grateful for all of you in my life and the family I have been blessed with.
Talk to you next week
Sister Snow
